Reus Airport to Tarragona and the Costa Daurada

Choose the Tarragona stop before choosing the bus

The airport’s bus directory identifies Hispano Igualadina for Tarragona and BusPlana for PortAventura, Salou and Cambrils. These services are linked to flights, so a general statement that buses run “throughout the day” is not enough to plan an arrival. Open the operator timetable for your travel date and compare it with the flight's scheduled landing.

With checked luggage, leave roughly 45–75 minutes after landing before a separately booked onward departure. Passport queues or a flight delay can use up that margin; a changeable ticket is useful if the next leg is expensive.

For Tarragona, compare the coach stop with the hotel address on foot. Accommodation in Part Alta sits above the lower city; a manageable distance on a map can involve slopes, steps and luggage. A taxi to the nearest permitted access point may be worth more than saving a few euros on the first leg. Hotels within pedestrian streets should provide the practical drop-off point.

Salou and Cambrils cover more ground than their names suggest

“Salou” on a ticket does not necessarily mean outside a particular resort. The same applies to Cambrils, where a seafront address can be well away from the harbour. Before buying, identify the named stop and the remaining walk, including any road crossings.

A solo traveller with a small bag usually gains most from the airport coach. For a family of four, compare the full group bus bill with Aena’s taxi estimate. Four separate fares plus a second taxi at the destination can erase the apparent saving. Bus fares should be taken from the operator’s dated booking or timetable page; the airport directory does not provide a dependable single fare for every coastal destination.

If bringing a pushchair, bulky sports equipment or several large suitcases, request the appropriate vehicle size. A four-passenger taxi does not automatically have space for four large cases. Reserve a child seat when required rather than hoping a vehicle at the rank carries one.

Reus line 50 is the connection-building option

Line 50 connects the terminal with Reus city, including its railway and bus stations. It makes sense when staying in Reus, continuing on a service from the city, or arriving outside a useful direct coastal departure.

The extra transfer has a cost in effort as well as time. Leave at least 30 minutes between a scheduled local-bus arrival and a separate onward departure, longer with unfamiliar stations or luggage. A local bus cannot recover time for a reserved train if the flight is late.

For a journey through Reus, add the line 50 fare to the actual onward fare. This connection is most useful for a destination already served from Reus bus or railway station; for a hotel on the coast, the direct airport service usually involves less handling of luggage.

Camp de Tarragona is not Tarragona city station

Camp de Tarragona serves high-speed trains outside the city. Tarragona station serves the city near the waterfront. Neither is inside Reus Airport.

Aena describes a public-transport journey to Camp de Tarragona using line 50 to Reus bus station and an onward coach. That is a two-stage transfer, so it is unsuitable for a tight flight-to-train connection. The airport’s indicative taxi figure for the AVE station is €48 per vehicle.

When a train is essential, book a changeable fare and protect a generous arrival margin. When Tarragona itself is the destination, travelling to Camp de Tarragona first usually creates an unnecessary detour.

Late arrivals and the flight home

Keep the accommodation’s arrival contact and full address available offline. If the last useful coach has gone, the airport taxi rank is the practical fallback; Aena describes a permanent service for flight arrivals. Avoid following an unsolicited driver away from the official pickup area.

For the flight home, give the driver the hotel’s pickup entrance and work backwards from the airline’s check-in deadline. Reserve a wheelchair-accessible taxi in advance if needed; the airport’s assistance team covers the airport part of the journey.
